Today, Acer held its annual next@acer event, where it showed off all of its upcoming products. Among them was its new Enduro lineup, which is made for the rugged market, competing with Panasonic"s ToughBooks. All of them are MIL-STD-810G certified, which means that you can beat the heck out of them. They can be dropped, handle extreme temperatures, and so on.
At the top end is the Enduro N7. It"s IP65 rated and has hot swappable batteries, meaning that it has two batteries inside so you can swap one out without ever powering down the machine. It comes with an Intel Core i5-8250U processor, up to 8GB DDR4 memory, and more.
Then there"s the Enduro N3, which is still meant to be rugged, but in a more thin and light form factor. This one is IP53 rated, and it"s still meant to be used outdoors, despite not being offered with any kind of cellular connectivity. This one comes with up to an Intel Core i5-10510U, 16GB DDR4 memory, and up to a 1TB SSD.
The N3 is also the only one that Acer confirmed availability on. It"s coming to North America in August starting at $899 and EMEA in June starting at €999.
There are also a series of tablets, both with Windows 10 and Android. The Enduro T5 is a 10-inch Windows 10 tablet with an IP65 rating, and it comes with a seventh-gen Intel Core m3 processor. Naturally, you can connect it to a whole bunch of accessories, like docking stations, hand grips, shoulder straps, and so on.
Finally, there"s the Enduro T1, which comes in a 10-inch Windows 10 version and an eight-inch Android flavor. They"re IP54 rated, and like the entire Enduro lineup, they"re MIL-STD-810G certified. The smaller eight-inch one is made for smart retail, warehouse, and factory workers, and it can be used wearing gloves.
Pricing and availability on all but the N3 is to be announced later.
