Along with its new Windows-powered laptops, Acer today unveiled the new Acer Chromebook 715 and Acer Chromebook 714 at its next@acer event. The two premium laptops are designed to allow employees to work “more securely and efficiently” as they feature military-grade aluminium chassis, an integrated fingerprint reader, and Citrix Ready Certification. The two devices run Google’s Chrome OS so they’re particularly suited to those who work in a cloud-heavy job.
Discussing the products, James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, IT Product Business, Acer Inc, said:

The specifications for the two laptops are similar, here are the properties that are the same in both models:

- Processor: 8th Gen Intel Core i3-8130U processor, 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8250U processor, Intel Celeron 3867U processor, Intel Pentium Gold 4417U processor.
- Memory: Up to 16 GB.
- Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 620.
- Storage: eMMC: 32 / 64 / 128 GB.
- Battery Life: Up to 12 hours.
- Wireless: Intel Wireless-AC / 802.11ac/a/b/g/n, 2x2 MIMO technology.
- Audio: 2 x stereo speakers, 2 x microphones.
- USB: 2 x USB 3.1 Type-C, 1 x USB 3.0, MicroSD card reader.
- Bluetooth: Bluetooth 4.2.
The properties unique to the Acer Chromebook 715 are as follows:
- Screen: 15.6” FHD 1920 x 1080, IPS, optional 10-finger touch.
- Dimensions: 366.35 (W) x 248.6 (D) x 17.9 (H) mm.
- Weight: 1.8 kg.
The Acer Chromebook 714’s properties are:
- Screen: 14” FHD 1920 x 1080, IPS, optional 10-finger touch.
- Dimensions: 323 (W) x 238.6 (D) x 17.7 (H) mm.
- Weight: 1.5 kg.
The Acer Chromebook 715 and Acer Chromebook 714 will be available with 8GB or 16GB of DDR4 SDRAM and 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of eMMC storage. They will begin selling in North America in July from $499. They will arrive in Europe and the Middle East even earlier in June “in the approved Chrome OS territories”, starting from €549.
