As expected, the Computex trade show in Taipei is going to be the event where many PC makers will be showing off new desktops, laptops and tablets designed to run on Microsoft"s Windows 8 OS. Acer is apparently the first out of the box with its announcement of the Aspire S7 Ultrabook.
Engadget reports that the Aspire S7 will have a touch screen for using the Metro UI and will also come in an 11.6 inch and a 13.3 inch model. The battery life for the smaller version is nine hours and the 13.3 inch model can continue for 12 hours.
Both of the models will come with an aluminum design and the 13.3 inch Aspire S7 will come with a "sculpted glass cover". They will also come with a backlit keyboard that is supposed to automatically sense the light level in its location and adjust its own light to match.
There"s no word on what processor will be inside these new Ultrabooks and there"s no other word on the other hardware that"s supposed to be in the casing. Naturally, there"s also no word yet on pricing and availability but we think this product should be out at or near the launch of Windows 8 itself.
