Acer launches sleek all-in-one PCs with 'super slim bezels', running Windows 10 or Linux

Acer has announced the launch of its new Aspire C Series, a family of all-in-one desktop PCs, offering sleek design and a choice of three operating systems.

Along with Windows 10 Home, buyers are also offered the option of having FreeDOS or Linpus Simple Linux pre-installed on their machine.

Don"t be misled by this Acer image - the Aspire C has no touchscreen or stylus support

The Aspire C is available with either a 21.5- or 23.8-inch display, each with Full HD (1920x1080px) resolution, although neither model includes touch or stylus support, despite Acer"s promotional image showing a handwritten note on the screen. Both versions feature "super slim bezels" around the display area, while the overall form factor is pretty sleek too. The upper portion of the Aspire C is just 8mm thick - thinner than many smartphones.

Various configurations of each model are available, with the following key specs:

  • Up to Intel Core i3 (6th-generation / "Skylake") processors
  • Up to 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • Up to 1TB 5400rpm hard drives
  • 1MP webcam
  • Bluetooth 4.0 LE
  • 802.11ac Wi-Fi
  • 2 x USB 3.0
  • 2 x USB 2.0
  • Integrated dual speakers

The Aspire C Series is now available to buy in the US, priced from $449.99 to $699.99.
