Acer is going to give customers two versions of a new all-in-one PC designed specifically for Windows 8. Engadget reports that at Computex today, the PC maker announced the Aspire U family with two different models; the Aspire 7600U with a 27-inch screen and the Aspire 5600U with a 23-inch monitor.
The 7600 U sounds like the pricer and more high end of the pair; Acer says it has a 64-point simultaneous touch screen which can be used by more than one person at a time. The screen can also swivel from 0 degrees to a 90 degree portrait angle. The smaller 5600 U is supposedly the "thinnest AIO available" but Acer didn"t go into specifics. It is also supposed to have an "ergonomic touch design" with a monitor that can tilt from 30 degrees to 85 degrees.
Both of these all-in-one PCs are supposed to have "Full HD visuals and Dolby Home Theater Surround Sound." Unfortunately, that"s all Acer is saying about the hardware inside these upcoming PCs. There"s also no word of pricing or an exact release date, but it seems logical that these new models might come out around the launch period for Windows 8.
