Today, Acer is holding its second biannual next@acer event, so that means that it"s introducing a ton of new products across its entire portfolio. For its TravelMate commercial PCs, there are three new models: the Spin P4, the P4, and the P2.
First of all, they all have Intel 11th-generation processors. This is notable, because while Tiger Lake is Intel"s second generation of chips built on a 10nm process, it"s the first one for business PCs. For the 10th generation, commercial PCs still got the 14nm Comet Lake. This means that there"s a massive improvement in graphics with Iris Xe, and it comes with perks like Thunderbolt 4 and faster memory.
Moreover, they all have 4G LTE, which is obviously more secure than public Wi-Fi. It makes it easy to just connect to the internet from wherever you are with no hassle. They"re also MIL-STD-810G certified, so they"re tough.
The P4 series is the top-end one, getting 15 hours of battery life while the P2 gets 13 hours. The P4 series also has things like shock-resistant corners and a spill-proof keyboard, and it gets fast charging allowing for an 80% charge in an hour.
The TravelMate P4 is the lightest at 3.2 pounds, while the Spin P4 comes in at 3.37 pounds and the P2, which has a textured top cover, comes in at 3.58 pounds. They"re all made out of metal.
"People are increasingly working on the go and in places other than the office," said James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, IT Products Business, Acer Inc. "We’ve designed this generation of TravelMate notebooks around that trend. Military-grade durability to survive the bumps and drops of daily life, enough battery life to get through the entire work day and a generous array of ports. These are a line of reliable devices for people that need to get the job done."
The TravelMate Spin P4 is coming to North America in December starting at $999.99 and EMEA in November starting at €999. The TravelMate P4 is also coming to North America in December, but it starts at $899.99, and it"s coming to EMEA in November for €899. Finally, the TravelMate P2 is coming to North America in March, starting at $799.99, and EMEA in November starting at €759.
