Acer has unveiled a new mid-range laptop for the mainstream gamer who doesn"t care about keeping up with the power players, but still wants a solid casual experience.
The new Nitro 5, running Windows 10, sports an AMD"s Ryzen mobile processor with an RX560 GPU, with a 15.6-inch HD screen capable of 1920x1080 resolution. It comes with a 512GB SSD drive, and runs DDR4 memory up to 32GB.
The laptop provides a front-facing webcam for wannabe streamers, along with Mixer for broadcasts available directly off the Game Bar. The Nitro 5 also offers a decent Dolby sound package with Dolby Audio Premium and Acer"s proprietary TrueHarmony tech.
The unit also comes with two apps specific to Acer. NitroSense allows for heat monitoring of CPU and GPU, with the ability to adjust fan speeds through CoolBoost.
The laptop will be available starting in April in the United States for $799, and Europe, Middle East and Africa for €1,099.
