In early September, Acer unveiled the Liquid Jade Primo, its new Windows 10 Mobile flagship. Four and a half months later, the high-end handset still hasn"t gone on sale - but it is now available to pre-order in some European markets.
Acer announced at CES this month that the device will actually go on sale in February, with a guide price of €569 EUR (around $620 USD), but it also pointed out that exact pricing would vary between markets. In the Philippines, for example, Acer announced in October that the Liquid Jade Primo would cost 18,990 PHP (roughly €365 / $400), but pre-order prices in Europe are much closer to the more recently announced guide price, as WMPU reports:
- Germany: via Notebooksbilliger and Cyberport, priced at €569
- Italy: via Expansys, priced at €599, including Continuum Dock
- Portugal: via Orange, priced at €614.99
The Liquid Jade Primo"s key specs include:
- Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor
- 5.5-inch Full HD (1920x1080px) AMOLED screen
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB storage (plus microSD card support up to 128GB)
- 21MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and 4K (3840x2160px) video recording
- 8MP front-facing camera with Full HD (1920x1080px) video recording

- USB Type-C connector
- 4G LTE connectivity
- Dual-SIM support
- 2800mAh battery
- 156.5 x 75.9 x 8.4mm; 150g
With its high-end specs, the Liquid Jade Primo will be one of only a handful of Windows 10 Mobile devices announced so far to support the operating system"s Continuum feature, which effectively allows users to turn their devices into mini-PCs, by connecting them to a larger monitor or TV, and interacting with them via a mouse and keyboard, complete with a PC-style user interface and Start menu.
Other handsets to support Continuum include the distinctive NuAns NEO, and Microsoft"s range-topping Lumia 950 and 950 XL.
