Activision has quite literally cleaned up at the 26th Golden Joystick awards today, scooping, among others, the award for best publisher. The Call of Duty series took most of the "for games" awards - Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare picked up 4 awards, including "Multiplayer game of the year", while its younger, unreleased brother, Call of Duty 5: World at War nabbed the "One to watch" award.
Other companies did get a look in too - Rockstar picked up the "Developer of the year" award, and it"s controversial Grand Theft Auto IV picked up "Xbox game of the year". Unsurprisingly, the "PlayStation game of the year" gong went to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
Although, it"s nice to see non-standard gaming platforms being included as well - with the iPhone version of Bejeweled 2 picking up the "Mobile Game of the year" prize.
