Activision has revealed more of the talent who will be supporting Call of Duty: Elite, a future social hub for the record-breaking franchise. As NowGamer reports, Activision has previously confirmed that they have some celebrities waiting in the wings to provide content for the community. Previously, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Ben Silverman were known. Now, it has been confirmed that both Tony and Ridley Scott are going to be providing “exclusive episodic entertainment just built for the Call of Duty community”.
Ridley Scott is most well known for having directed Alien, Blade Runner, and Black Hawk Down. His brother, Tony, has been responsible for Top Gun, Enemy of the State, and Spy Game. Both of the Scott brothers will be working to create content focused for the Call of Duty community alongside the other big stars. In addition, certain members of the community have been invited to create some content for the Elite service. An example of this is ‘XboxAhoy", responsible for the production of a series of weapon guide videos on his YouTube channel. The videos became extremely popular, and as such, he has been rewarded for his contributions by being invited to create more video content on an official level.
Activision"s CEO, Eric Hirshberg, had the following to say:
"Just like any other passion that people spend a lot of their free time doing, Call of Duty players share a common language and a common experience and we think we can create some entertainment content that they will love and talk about and share."
The Call of Duty: Elite service is projected to release publicly alongside Modern Warfare 3. The service is currently in beta and is available only to a small sample of users.
