Adam Sessler no longer at G4

Adam Sessler, a long-time staple of gaming television, is no longer working for G4. The news became official today, with Patrick Klepek of Giant Bomb revealing the departure via the following tweet:

Looks like @AdamSessler is no longer with G4 and X-Play. Good luck with whatever"s next, Adam! Hope we get to work together again someday.

Sessler"s Twitter account has recently been updated with the following tweet:

Thank you to everyone with your exceedingly kind wishes and thoughts. I think I"ll finally take a nap....

Kotaku received a statement from a representative of Sessler, confirming the end of Sessler"s employment at G4. In the statement, it was revealed that Sessler"s final episode for X-Play will air today. According to the statement, Sessler plans to stay in the television and film industry; currently, he is working with an unnamed film production studio on theatrical adaptations of video game properties. Sources told Kotaku the departure was not amicable, with Sessler leaving the network over a contract dispute.

Sessler is best known as the host of X-Play, a show he has hosted since 1998, when it was known as GameSpot TV on ZDTV. The show was renamed Extended Play in 2001 when ZDTV was rebranded as TechTV. The show"s current title, X-Play, was adopted in 2003, with TechTV merging with G4TV a year later. G4 has not yet released a statement on Sessler"s departure, nor has it announced if a new host will join Sessler"s former co-host, Morgan Webb.
