AdDuplex: Version 1903 now on 45.5% of Windows 10 devices

AdDuplex released its monthly Windows 10 usage report today, which is based on about 5,000 Microsoft Store apps that use AdDuplex SDK v.2 and higher. The data was collected on September 25.

As you can see, the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, or version 1903, got a significant bump in usage this month. It"s up to 45.5% from 33% last month. Windows 10 version 1809 is down to 25.5% from 28.7%, but the bulk of it comes out of version 1803"s usage, which is down to 24.1% from 33.1%. Notably, support for version 1803 ends in November, so that number should drop pretty quickly.

The rest of it is pretty stagnant. Version 1709 dropped from 2.2% to 1.9%, older versions dropped from 2.8% to 2.7%, and Insiders are the same at 0.3%.

Showing the usage adoption chart, we can see that version 1903 had slower adoption at first than any update except for the problematic 1809. But it eventually picked up the pace.

Ahead of next Wednesday"s Surface event, AdDuplex did another Surface usage report for the first time since February. However, it hasn"t changed much. The top six Surface devices are still the same, with the Pro 4 leading the pack. The Surface Book 2 is now ahead of the original Surface Book, and the Surface Studio 2 is finally on the board. That"s all that"s changed in terms of Surface usage in the past seven months.
