Adobe Lightroom is now finally free on Android, only a couple of months after it ditched its requirement for a subscription on iOS.
As any photography enthusiast knows, Lightroom can make the difference between a good image and a great image, so it’s really cool to see Adobe follow through on previous plans and make the app available for free on both major mobile platforms. That is, without the need for an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
However, Adobe is still following a freemium model here, so if you want your files to sync between your Android device and your desktop you’ll still need to splurge for the CC monthly payments.
Still, having the ability to edit some raw DNG images on the go and for free, is a very nice addition to Android’s roster of photo abilities.
You can get the latest version of Adobe Lightroom for Android from the Google Play Store.
