Today, Adobe announced the official availability of Flash 10.1 for Android devices in a press release, and stated that it would be available to devices running Android 2.2 soon. In the press release, they confirmed that the Nexus One, Motorola Droid & Milestone, Samsung Galaxy, HTC Incredible, Desire and EVO would be getting the update, according to The Unwired.
Google has been very quiet about which devices will be updated to Android 2.2, only naming the HTC Desire and the Nexus One - leaving a lot of users wondering if the device they"ve recently purchased will be doomed to running an old version - Neowin reported on a semi-official thread on the Google Support Forums about the issue, with well over 1400 posts, users are very upset that their devices aren"t being included.
HTC announced earlier this year that "most phones launched this year will get an upgrade to [Android] 2.2", though they recently ruled out the HTC Legend - also released this year from getting the 2.2 upgrade. According to SoyaCincau a post from HTC Singapore on Facebook ruled out the update, but then removing the comment once the news had been published which has raised suspicion that it may be getting the update after all.
The Unwired also reports that Adobe has released the update for Android, webOS, Windows Phone 7, BlackBerry, LiMo, MeeGo and Symbian OS - with Apple iOS being the only one missing.
