Just yesterday, Microsoft announced that it had a very ambitious plan of rolling out the Lumia Denim update to all devices in India by the end of the month. Now it looks like the company is serious with a bunch of new devices receiving the update today.
You’d be forgiven if you didn’t trust Microsoft when they laid out their plan of rolling out Denim to all Indian devices by the end of the month. After all, the company has previously set numerous deadlines for roll-outs around the world, and so far, none of those stuck.
However, it looks like the company might be serious this time and the Denim update might reach all Windows Phone users in India by March. Four new devices have started receiving the Denim firmware as of today: the Lumia 525, Lumia 535 Dual SIM, Lumia 620 and Lumia 720.
Together with the 520 which was already receiving the update, this bring the grand total to five. That’s not a lot and Microsoft still has a long way to go to fulfill its promise, but considering it’s barely been 24 hours since the original announcement, today’s moves are very encouraging.
Now if only Microsoft could get carrier support and do the same thing across the world.
