When Windows 10 is released next week, it will come with a new browser called Edge. While Internet Explorer will still be available for the enterprise, for consumers, Edge is that path forward for the company.
Tucked away inside of Edge are the F12 development tools that assist web developers who build and debug webpages and they have been updated with a slew of new features. Along with the new features, the Edge team is stating that the documentation for the tools is now part of the Edge Dev site and is also available on GitHub.
The updates to the tools span across several areas including debugging, cookies, web storage, and experiments.
It"s that last addition that will likely cause developers to perk up as there is a new tab in the F12 tools designed for experiments that allow you to test new features that are not quite ready to be pulled out of the oven. In this release, the first experiment to be tested allows you to edit any JavaScript file in the debugger source viewer.
