Remedy Entertainment"s action-thriller game Alan Wake was pulled from all retail and digital stores in May 2017 due to its music licenses expiring. And while it has taken a while for the flashlight-wielding novelist to return, the game is finally back on sale across various digital platforms on PC right on time for Halloween.
The announcement arrived via Remedy"s Twitter account, where it also thanked Microsoft for helping with bringing the game back from limbo, music and all:
"Big thanks to our partner and Alan Wake’s publishers @Microsoft who were able to renegotiate the rights to the licensed music in Alan Wake, so that the game can be sold again."
While Steam and GOG had the game back on their stores first, other parties such as Humble have now gotten their pages up and running too. However, the Xbox 360 version - which is also backward compatible on the Xbox One - is still missing from the Xbox Marketplace, but the studio is working on remedying the situation.
Celebrating the return, Alan Wake and its spin-off American Nightmare has been discounted by 80% across all digital PC stores for seven days, so this is a probably a good time to grab the series before anything else happens to it.
