An alleged image of the retail box of an unreleased MacBook Pro surfaced online. It appeared on the Chinese social media website Weibo according to Apple leaker ShrimpApplePro, who relayed it on X (Twitter).
The retail box in the image shows a laptop featuring a new wallpaper design that looks similar to the ones on this year"s iPhone 15 Pro. However, the image should be taken with a grain of salt as its authenticity is not verified and could be fake.

However, this comes ahead of Apple"s upcoming online event "Scary Fast" which is scheduled to happen on October 30. The Cupertino giant is expected to unveil its new M3 series chips alongside refreshed MacBooks and a new 24-inch iMac.
It is evident that Mac computers will be the focus of the event as the teaser on Apple"s website shows its logo transforming into a Finder icon. Moreover, the word "Fast" in the tagline could be an indication that Apple is about to launch a new in-house chip in an effort to revive MacBook sales figures.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the "limited M2 computing power upgrade" could have been a reason behind the considerable decline in MacBook shipments.
"I believe this is why Apple may prefer to launch the M3 series MacBook Pro even when its production volume is still low rather than continue to ship the M2 series MacBook Pro. Theoretically, the M3 should offer a more significant boost in computing power," Kuo said in a post on X.
He added that the "likelihood of introducing the all-new design MacBook Pro in 2025 may increase" if the M3 chip fails to bring more sales for Apple. The analyst also strengthened previous rumors of a low-cost MacBook in the making that will likely compete with Google"s Chromebook.
