Amazon Assistant is the latest extension available for Microsoft's Edge browser

In March, with its release of Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14291, Microsoft made the first web extensions available for its Edge browser. It also said that many more were on the way, including AdBlock Plus and LastPass, which have since been released.

Amazon was on that list too, and now Microsoft has announced that the Amazon Assistant extension is available for Windows Insiders.

The Windows Store listing for the new extension reads:

Amazon Assistant helps you make better decisions wherever you shop online by giving you access to:

  • Deal of the Day: Never miss a deal. Assistant delivers the best deals every day.
  • Product Comparison: Keep an eye out for product and price comparisons that can save time and money.
  • Universal Wish List: Save products from any website with the Wish List tab.
  • Shortcuts: Save time. Assistant gives you shortcuts to popular Amazon destinations right in your browser.

The store listing also directs users to "learn more at www.amazon.com/assistant", which leads to a page on which only the Google Chrome extension is shown, with the same feature set. Of course, Microsoft has previously highlighted how simple it is to convert existing Chrome extensions for use with Edge.

The Amazon Assistant extension is available to download free from the Windows Store for Edge on the newest Windows 10 Insider Preview builds.
