Although HBO and Showtime have been creating award-winning original content for several years, online streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime are still in theirinfancy when it comes to crafting content. Yet, both companies have netted multiple awards over the past couple of years, with Amazon"s wins at the Golden Globes being the most recent. Now to celebrate, Amazon is allowing those without a Prime membership to stream its award-winning series, "Mozart in the Jungle", as well as offering a discounted Prime membership to those who sign up this weekend.
This isn"t the first time that Amazon has offered its "Prime" service at a discount. Amazon also discounted the service late last year when its other original series "Transparent", won five Emmy awards. For those interested, Amazon will be streaming "Mozart in the Jungle" globally for free the entire weekend. Those in the United States will be able to take advantage of Amazon"s discounted rate and sign up for Amazon Prime for $73. The free streaming and discounted membership will end at 11:59pm PST on Sunday.
