After last week"s outage on the US East regions, the US West servers were experiencing connectivity issues. The problem was announced on the AWS status page. According to Amazon, issues persisted in the Oregon and North California regions. The issue has been resolved at 8:14 AM PST and the services are now operating normally.
The issue was for a brief period of time, unlike the one that affected the eastern servers. The outage impacted Netflix, Twitch, Slack, and many other websites that rely on AWS for providing their services according to Downdetector.

Users took to social media to report that they could not access home monitoring systems, Ring doorbells, and baby monitors due to the outage. According to leaked documents reviewed by Business Insider, the December 7 outage was caused by a sudden surge of traffic that caused problems to "several network devices within the internal AWS network".
