AMD 22.2.1 driver has support for Dying Light 2, Lost Ark, and Vulkan 1.3

AMD"s driver team has pushed out a new graphics driver update, bumping the version up to Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.1, and adding support for a couple of soon-releasing games plus the newest Vulkan 1.3 iteration.

The games gaining official support in this release are Dying Light 2 Stay Human from Techland, which comes out February 4, as well as the western release of Lost Ark, the Amazon Games-published 2.5D fantasy MMO, which drops on February 11.

Unfortunately, AMD did not go into detail on what sort of improvements these games are receiving with the driver, but it is a recommended install for anyone with a graphics card from the red team jumping in.

A single fixed issue is present in this driver related to the RX 6700 XT when playing Fortnite:

  • On some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon® RX 6700 XT Graphics, some users may observe flashing colored lights around their character when playing Fortnite™ using DirectX® 12.

The current known issues are these:

  • While playing Cyberpunk 2077™ on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon® RX 570 Graphics, some users may observe an issue where indoor areas appear darker than expected.
  • Stuttering or lower than expected FPS values may be experienced by some users while playing God of War on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon® RX 6900 XT Graphics.
  • Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
  • Radeon performance metrics and logging features may intermittently report extremely high and incorrect memory clock values.

The newly released Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.1 driver is available for download via standalone links on the release notes page here. The Radeon Settings app on Windows can also be used to upgrade to this driver, with the download available in its Optional section.
