AMD pushed out a new driver today that deals out support and optimizations for two games that release on April 16. Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.4.2 driver promises great results for those picking up the cooperative shooter World War Z, and is also recommended for prospective Anno 1800 players.
Although AMD didn"t go into detail regarding what improvements does this driver carry for Ubisoft"s city-builder title Anno 1800, it did show greatly improved performance numbers for World War Z with this release.
In the company"s testing with World War Z, when compared to the 19.4.1 driver, the new 19.4.2 driver had performed up to 24% better on Radeon VII graphics cards, while delivering up to 19% more performance on Radeon Vega 64 cards. Although these results are only for two products from AMD, the frame rate boost should apply in some form to the entire GCN graphics card lineup.
There doesn"t seem to be any bug fixes included in this update, but there is a list of known issues to look out for:
- AMD Radeon VII may experience screen flicker in multi display setups on desktop or while applications are running.
- Netflix™ Windows® Store application may experience display flicker during video playback on some HDR enabled displays.
- Performance metrics overlay and Radeon WattMan gauges may experience inaccurate fluctuating readings on AMD Radeon VII.
- Performance metrics overlay may experience intermittent flicker when playing back protected content with this feature enabled.
- System instability may be experienced on ASUS TUF Gaming FX504 laptop when a wireless display is connected.
The Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.4.2 driver is now available to download via the Radeon Settings app on Windows or through the links listed in the official release notes.
