Android 5.1 Lollipop will be available for the HTC One M9 on AT&T tomorrow

The next-generation Android "M" release - or whatever it ends up being called - will arrive later this quarter, but for now, Lollipop continues to slowly roll out around the world. At last count, Android 5.x releases had made it to just 12% of devices, but more devices are now being upgraded to these newest versions.

The latest addition to that list is the HTC One M9 on AT&T. HTC"s Mo Versi revealed today that Android 5.1 will begin rolling out for that device on June 15:

HTC One (M9) AT&T Owners! We have received technical approval on Lollipop OS 5.1 which includes camera improvements. OTA to start on 7/15!!

— Mo Versi (@moversi) July 14, 2015

He also mentioned that the update includes "camera improvements" - an aspect of the handset that could certainly use some attention, as we found in our review of the device. This could be a reference to HTC"s own new software update for the One M9, which it announced last month. Alongside better camera performance, that release also promised improvements in battery life.

As with all updates of this kind, it may take a little while before it"s available for all eligible handsets, so if it doesn"t appear on your HTC One M9 on AT&T tomorrow, check back later.
