Last week, the latest version of Android (excluding the "M" Developer Preview) began rolling out to Samsung"s Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. The first of these handsets to get Android 5.1.1 were those sold by T-Mobile US, but the newest Lollipop update is now spreading further.
US Cellular has updated its site with details on installing the update onto the S6 or S6 edge, either over-the-air or tethered to a PC. The update will bump your device up to base band version G920R4TYU2BOF7 (S6) or G925R4TYU2BOF7 (S6 edge).
However, the carrier hasn"t yet posted a change log for the update, so it"s not clear what changes it may have made to Android 5.1.1 beyond the standard bug fixes and improvements in Google"s release of the OS.
Earlier this week, Android 5.1.1 also made its way to Samsung"s 2014 flagship, the Galaxy S5, on T-Mobile, and it has recently rolled out to various other devices, including the Google Nexus 6 on AT&T and the Moto 360 smartwatch.
