Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update delayed for Moto 360

Google recently announced the next version of its Android OS, currently known as the "M" release - but the Android M Developer Preview is currently available only on a handful of Nexus devices. For other Android devices, the most recent OS version available is 5.1.1 Lollipop, which is slowly continuing to roll out.

But one device which won"t be getting 5.1.1 any time soon is the Moto 360 smartwatch. While some other Android Wear devices have already been upgraded to this latest version, including the LG Watch Urbane, it looks like Moto 360 owners will have to wait a while longer.

@davidcstevens_ Performance is not quite there yet. We’re working with Google to ensure the software works great on #Moto360. Thanks.

In response to a recent enquiry on Twitter about when Android 5.1.1 would be made available for the device, Motorola said that the update was still being worked on, and that it hasn"t been released because "performance is not quite there yet".

Unfortunately, the company didn"t give any indication of when it might finally get "there", so for now, 360 owners will just have to sit tight and wait for further information.
