Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will soon roll out to Google's Nexus 6 on Project Fi

Earlier this year, Google launched its own wireless service, operating on the physical networks of Sprint and T-Mobile in the US. However, there are some limitations to the "Project Fi" service - aside from limited nationwide 3G and 4G LTE coverage, the service is only available on one device: Google"s own Nexus 6.

Still, there"s plenty to like about that device, and for those using it on Project Fi, it"s about to get a little bit better. Nexus 6 handsets on Fi currently run Android 5.1, but Google has revealed that the newer 5.1.1 Lollipop release is on the way.

Good news! Android 5.1.1 - an even sweeter version of Android Lollipop - is coming to all Project Fi phones over the next few days.

Android 5.1.1 is already available on some Nexus 6 handsets around the world, but those on Project Fi aren"t yet among them. Google hasn"t revealed exactly when the update will arrive for those devices, saying only that it will roll out "over the next few days."
