It"s been just over eleven months since Google released Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but the overwhelming majority of Android devices haven"t had a taste of its sweet goodness yet. According to Google"s most recent official figures - now well over a month old - around 15% of active Android devices are now running Marshmallow.
Today, Sony finally began its rollout of the Android 6.0 update for the Xperia C4 and C4 Dual. The two mid-range devices were released with Android 5.0 Lollipop in May 2015, five months before Marshmallow was originally released, and yet it"s taken Sony almost a full year to start upgrading the two handsets.
The update bumps up the C4"s firmware to version 27.3.A.0.122, while the C4 Dual increases to 27.3.B.0.122.
Meanwhile, Google has already released Android 7.0 Nougat, but Sony has made it very clear that the Xperia C4 and C4 Dual won"t be eligible for that update.
