While the likes of Samsung and Sony have only started upgrading their Android devices to the latest version of the OS in recent weeks, HTC began its rollout before Christmas. Its upgrade program will continue this week, reaching the company"s 2014 flagship, the One M8, on two of America"s largest carriers.
Mo Versi, HTC"s Vice President for Product Management, revealed that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has received technical approval for its deployment to the One M8 on both Verizon and T-Mobile.
The update is currently being prepared for its over-the-air (OTA) rollout, which will begin on Monday, March 7. Most OTA upgrades are staggered and delivered to eligible devices in "waves", so if you don"t immediately see Marshmallow available for your One M8 on Monday, don"t panic - just give it a bit more time.
Meanwhile, the company is getting ready for the launch of its newest flagship, which is believed to be called the "HTC 10", dropping the high-end "One" branding of its predecessors. Leaked photos and renders recently showed off the design of the new handset.
