Android 7.0 Nougat begins rolling out to Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and 9.7 in the US

Earlier this month, Samsung began its rollout of the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy Tab S2, making it available first in a handful of European markets. Now, the update is making its way to the 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch tablets in the United States.

Weighing in at over 850MB, the update bumps up the Galaxy Tab 8.0"s build number to T710XXU2DQCL, and that of the 9.7-inch model to T810XXU2DQCL. In addition to the tasty treats of Nougat, Samsung"s update also includes the very latest April security patches for Android, which Google released just under two weeks ago.

Eight months have passed since Google originally released Android 7.0 Nougat, and since then, versions 7.1, 7.1.1, and 7.1.2 have arrived. It"s not clear if Samsung plans to release any of these more recent updates to its devices, but Google is already preparing for the next major version of its OS, currently known as Android O.
