Android 7.0 Nougat rollout for HTC 10 suspended in Europe due to "technical issue"

HTC was among the first companies to begin upgrading its devices to Android 7.0 Nougat, bringing the update to its 10 flagship back in November. Earlier this month, HTC Germany revealed that the rollout for the 10 had been paused due to software bugs - but a few days ago, the company announced that its European rollout had officially begun, starting in the United Kingdom.

But today, Graham Wheeler, HTC"s Product and Service Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, revealed that the rollout has again been suspended.

For HTC 10 users in mainland Europe, we’ve unfortunately had to pause the rollout as we look into a technical issue and work to correct it.

Wheeler said that the decision was made because of an unspecified "technical issue", and added that he expects the rollout to resume sometime in February.

But while those in mainland Europe will have to continue waiting for their HTC 10 to get the Nougat upgrade, Wheeler confirmed that Android 7.0 remains available to the device in the UK, and is now making its way to Russia, Turkey, and the Middle East too.
