Android 7.0 Nougat rolls out to Galaxy S7 and S7 edge on T-Mobile, starting with beta users

Samsung began its rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat just over a month ago, starting with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Now, the update is making its way to both of those devices on T-Mobile in the United States.

While the update is being made available over-the-air, it appears that its only been released so far to T-Mobile users running an Android 7.0 build from Samsungs Galaxy Beta Program, which provided early access to Nougat for owners of those devices. However, given that that rollout has now commenced, it seems likely that non-beta users will be able to get their paws on the update fairly soon.

The release notes for the update highlight some of the improvements that owners can expect:

  • Provides new UX and various performance modes
  • Improved usability of the Notification feature and Quick settings button
  • Improved usability of the Multi window
  • Improved setting menu and AOD [Always On Display] feature, addition of the Samsung pass feature
  • Efficient space for installation of downloaded apps, improved speed of system upgrade and app installation

The update is just under 117MB in size, and also includes the latest February security patches for Android.
