Back in November, LG started the OS Preview Program allowing LG V30 owners in South Korea to install the Android 8.0 Oreo update. Users could install the preview version and provide the company with feedback to iron out bugs and issues before the release of the stable version of the operating system.
If you"re based in South Korea, there"s some good news for you. LG has started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the LG V30. The update is rolling out over-the-air (OTA) and weighs 1411.90MB so make sure you"re connected to a Wi-Fi network before you start the download process. Alternatively, users can also update to the latest operating system manually through LG Bridge software.
The update brings all the features introduced with Android 8.0 Oreo, along with speed, battery and performance enhancements. It also sports picture-in-picture capabilities -allowing users to run two apps simultaneously - along with auto-fill, improved app load times, fast animations, and much more.
There"s no word from the Korean company about the Android 8.0 release for other key markets. However, it"s likely that major markets should get the update in the coming weeks, especially the unlocked variants.
