Just a day after AT&T began rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat to the Samsung Galaxy Note5 and S6 edge+, Verizon Wireless is following suit with its own set of upgrades for its variants of the two devices. The new software versions are NRD90M.N920VVRU3CQB9 and NRD90M.G928VVRU3CQB9, respectively.
Aside from the standard features that come with Nougat, Samsung is including its own layer of additional functionality. If you"ve got a Galaxy Note5, you can use Air Command with the S Pen to create GIFs and get instant translation, and you can also use the Pen to mark up PDF documents.
For both devices, you"ll get new battery management options, which "helps maximize your battery"s potential." There"s also a Performance Mode, which lets you choose between "Optimized, Game, Entertainment, and High" performance options.
There are some camera improvements as well; you"ll be able to preview different Effects while taking a picture by swiping to the left. Along with that, there"s an improved keyboard with better language predictions.
While Android 7.0 Nougat was released almost eight months ago, it"s still on less than 5% of devices. In fact, the latest version, 7.1, didn"t even show any growth in this month"s usage breakdown, remaining stagnant at 0.4%.
