Android Pie is now rolling out to the Nokia 5.1 Plus, introduces Pro Camera mode

Android Pie is making its way to more phones as time goes by, with Huawei, Samsung, and OnePlus rolling out the update to their phones just this month. Not wanting to be left behind, HMD Global has now released Android Pie for yet another one of its devices, the Nokia 5.1 Plus.

The announcement was made by HMD Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarvikas, who further announced that the update includes the new Pro Camera for the mid-range phone. This feature made its debut on Nokia Android phones with the Nokia 8 Sirocco and it"s made its way to some of the company"s higher-end phones since then. The Nokia 6.1 Plus is also receiving it with the December update for Android Pie.

In addition to this, Nokiapoweruser reports that the update brings the ability to enable or disable the notch on the Nokia 5.1 Plus, which is likely to be welcome news for those who don"t like it.

What"s interesting about this is that, following the release of Pie for the Nokia 8, Sarvikas stated that the 8 Sirocco would be next in line for the update. However, the Nokia 5.1 Plus is receiving the update first, and there"s still no indication of the update will come to the company"s flagship. Hopefully, that happens sooner rather than later.
