Angry Birds, as it stands; is without doubt the most popular mobile game of all time, but the newest entry into the Angry Birds franchise aims to change things in an interesting manner.

Angry Birds Space is a new game which is a collaborative effort between Rovio and NASA. The announcement for this game came from the International Space Station earlier today, in orbit above Earth.

The launch announcement marks the beginning of an educational and revolutionary partnership between developer Rovio and NASA. In a statement, David Weaver, a communications representative for NASA, said:

This collaboration began with a simple Twitter exchange about birds and pigs in space, and it has grown into a tremendous outreach and education opportunity. Games are fun and entertaining, but they also can be inspirational and informative. This ongoing collaboration with Rovio and Angry Birds is an exciting way to get people engaged with NASA"s missions of exploration and discovery, and get students energized about future careers in science and technology.
