Anonymous releases 8 Gb of data from Italy's cyber police

The well known hacker group Anonymous has reportedly struck again and this time the group has apparently unleashed a ton of data related to Italy"s version of the cyber police. As reported by Gizmodo, a hacker with links to the Anonymous group has reportedly released a whopping 8 Gb file that contains tons of info from CNAIPIC, the organization in charge of Italy"s cyber defenses.

According to a statement the info contained in the CNAIPIC data leak includes info about a number of other organizations from around the world. That includes the US; the hacker claims the leak has sensitive info from "US Department of agriculture and hundreds of attorneys and DOJ accounts" along "hundreds" of other US government agencies and the Exxon oil company. The Anonymous hacker further claims, "This corrupted organization gathered all the evidence from the seized property of suspected computer professional entertainers and utilized it over many years to conduct illegal operations with foreign intelligence agencies and oligarchy to facilitate their lust for power and money, they never used obtained evidence to really support ongoing investigations."

The story speculates that the data leak is related to a series of raids in Italy earlier this month which resulted in the arrests of a number of people with suspected ties to Aonymous. In today"s message the hacker claims that this massive leak is just the beginning, saying that this is a "prerelease of a series we are going to make to reveal the biggest in history of European LE cyber operation Evidence exploitation and abuse."
