AOC has announced a new monitor, the P2779VC, with integrated Qi wireless charging in its base, which allows users to charge their compatible mobile devices by simply placing them on the stand. It notes how eliminating “the hassle of cables when charging your phone" lets consumers easily keep their devices at hand while using the monitor.
On the technical side, the 27-inch panel features 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 5ms gray-to-gray (gtg) response rate. The screen is a Plane to Line Switching (PLS) type panel (Samsung"s take on IPS) and AOC says it has 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles. The monitor is also treated with a matte anti-glare coating, which helps it maintain consistent image quality and colors across these angles.
The display integrates a VGA port, two HDMI 1.3 connections, a headphone jack, and a Kensington lock, while two HDMI cables and a single VGA cable are included in the box. The monitor only comes in a single color combination; black with a gold base.
The P2779VC is supposed to officially launch later in December for a price of $250. However, it is already listed on Amazon for $200, though it is not yet in stock.
