Apparently, the Samsung Galaxy Fold is still way too easy to break

Samsung"s Galaxy Fold has had a troubled story thus far. The handset was announced at its Galaxy Unpacked event back in February, and was supposed to be sold in April. It didn"t work out that way though. After making its way into the hands of reviewers, people quickly started finding that the screen easily broke.

The Korean firm postponed the launch, and went back to the drawing board. The issues were apparently fixed, and now it"s having the same problem. TechCrunch reviewer Brian Heater took the phone out of his pocket and noticed "a brightly colored, amorphous blob".

Heater also said, "In the grand scheme of first-gen foldable display problems, this isn’t a huge one, judging by photos from those who’ve had issues with the first model." But at the same time, this is a phone that will cost you well over $2,000 after taxes and such. If you spend that much money on something, it certainly shouldn"t break within 27 hours of using it, and especially if you"re using it as recommended.

When Samsung relaunched the Galaxy Fold, it actually canceled all previous pre-orders. And when it hits store shelves tomorrow, you won"t be able to get it online. This is seemingly so an employee of whatever store you buy it from can walk you through the device, and explain what you can and can"t do with it. There"s a new Galaxy Fold Premiere Service, which will let you "consult with a Fold Concierge", as well.

Either way, it doesn"t seem like Samsung is going to cancel the launch this time. There are already cases of these devices ready to go in stores tomorrow. For better or for worse, the Galaxy Fold launches in the U.S. on September 27.
