Apple will be opening up a new retail store in Tokyo"s Shinjuku district this weekend. The Shinjuku store was revealed today and will sit a few blocks away from Shinjuku station, making it accessible for visitors to the popular district.
“Apple has a long and special history in Japan, and Shinjuku marks the first of several new stores we’ll open in Japan in the coming years,” said Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail. “We can’t wait to welcome the vibrant community in Shinjuku to experience all the best Apple has to offer.”
As expected, the retailer will sell its popular Macbook, iPad and iPhone family of devices there. Apple will also host "Today at Apple" sessions, which teach visitors about design, music and coding.
Users will be able to learn how to code during swift, or even bring in personal projects and work in the spaces Apple provides. The firm sees its new Apple Stores as a town square of sorts and is carrying this ethos into the new retail location in Japan. The new Shinjuku store will officially open on Saturday at 10 am.
