Today Apple launched their new Mac App Store they unveiled back in October. Apple announced that they would be opening the Mac App Store for Snow Leopard, and launching with Lion in summer of 2011.
The App Store kicked off with over 1,000 free and paid applications available immediately. The applications range from basic support applications toup full games and much more. Apple also introduced that they will be releasing iLife suites available for $14.99 each.
Apple already has successful app stores on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, a rock solid business for not only Apple, but developers. The new Mac App Store will surely bring a new wave of developers, inspirations and creativeness to the Mac, something that Mac OS X really needed.
The Mac App Store will to download with the new Mac OS X v10.6.6 from Apple"s website.
