Earlier today, the dates and location for Apple"s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) were discovered through the firm"s digital voice assistant, Siri. The tech giant has now released details about the event, including pricing and how to snag a ticket.
Tickets to this year"s WWDC will cost $1,599 and like last year, will be chosen by means of a lottery. It will be held in San Francisco from June 13 through June 17. Registration has already begun and ends April 22 at 10 AM PDT. Winners of the lottery will be notified by April 25.
Apple will also be awarding 350 WWDC Scholarships to students and STEM organization members. Those selected will get a free ticket to the event.
Since it"s a developer conference, we"re expecting to find out what"s next for Apple"s platforms, so plan on hearing about iOS 10, OS X 10.12 (they might call it macOS 10.12), tvOS 10, and watchOS 3. If history is any kind of indicator, the firm will release developer betas following the day one keynote.
It"s also possible that the company will announce new hardware, as new MacBooks have been rumored; however, it is a developer conference, so expect the focus to be on software.
Of course, one of the all-time favorite pastimes when an Apple event is announced is to "read the tea leaves" and try to predict what will be announced. With that in mind, we"ll leave you with the image below.
