Apple has begun rolling out the fourth beta versions of iOS 12.1, watchOS 5.1, and tvOS 12.1 to developers today nearly a month after it introduced the first betas for each OS variation. Overall, the updates do not include major feature additions but instead come only with minor changes.
A major update with this release is a fix to charging issues with the iPhone. Also, new updates coming with the fourth iOS 12.1 developer beta add support for Group FaceTime, which lets as many as 32 users join in the same video conference with full access to Memoji on compatible iPhones. It is worth mentioning that this update was removed from iOS 12 prior to its release. This release bumps up the build number of iOS 12.1 to 16B5084a.
The latest beta build for tvOS 12.1 includes a few minor changes as well rather than major feature updates. This new developer beta bumps up the build number to 16J5600a. The same is true with the fourth beta for watchOS 5.1, with the main updates being the addition of Group FaceTime calls and the ability to handle the call via audio until a user opts to continue in video using an iPhone device.
The fourth beta builds for eligible developers are now available to download from the Apple Developer Center or through an OTA (over-the-air) update. Meanwhile, the public beta version of each OS is expected to arrive soon on the Apple Beta Software Program portal.
