Apple releases iOS 10 - here are all the devices that can upgrade

Last week, Apple unveiled the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, featuring improved performance, all-new cameras, as well as dust- and water-resistance, although they also lack a dedicated headphone jack. The new handsets will be the first to come with iOS 10 pre-installed.

The new iPhones aren"t the only devices that can run the latest version of Apple"s mobile operating system. Today, Apple released iOS 10 for some of its earlier devices too - but if your device isn"t in the list below, you won"t be able to upgrade:

  • iPad mini 3
  • iPad mini 2

iPod

  • iPod touch (6th generation only)

Meanwhile, the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are already available to pre-order, ahead of their release on Friday. They"ll go on sale alongside the Apple Watch Series 2, and an improved version of the first-generation Watch.
