Apple today released iOS 10.2 beta 7 to both developers and Public Beta testers. The version number is 14C92, and it"s the third build that the company has released within the past week, with the most recent being on Monday alongside macOS 10.12.2 Sierra and watchOS 3.1.1 beta 5.
The release notes show a couple fixes for this release - including the TV app not crashing on iPod Touch devices, and it fixes sync issues with iTunes 12.5.x - although to be fair, those have been listed as "fixed in this release" since at least Friday"s beta 5.
iOS 10.2 contains the new TV app, which is meant to be a hub for all of your video content - with the exception of Netflix - and it should replace the Videos app itself. There"s also support for the 72 new emojis that come with Unicode 9, so you can show your friends your love of bacon and avocados without the complications that come from having to use actual words.
You"ll also find some minor new features, such as new wallpapers (that you"ve probably already seen in promotional images), and there"s an option in Settings to preserve your Camera settings from the last time that you opened the app (you"re going to want to look into that, or else Live Photos will get turned on every time you open it).
iOS 10.2 is slated for a December launch, alongside macOS 10.12.2 Sierra, watchOS 3.1.1, and tvOS 10.1, and it should be pretty soon. With so many new builds in such a short period of time, Apple seems to be gearing up for general availability.
