Today, Apple released its second iOS 13.1 developer beta. You might recall that about a week ago, the Cupertino firm surprised everyone by skipping over the iOS 13 GM seed entirely and putting iOS 13.1 in beta. It adds back some features that were removed from the iOS 13 beta, such as the Share ETA button in Maps, Shortcuts Automations, and audio sharing.
As mentioned when the first beta was released, you do not need to install a new configuration profile on your iOS device to get iOS 13.1. If you"re on the iOS 13 beta, it"s just going to show up. If you don"t want iOS 13.1, you"ll need to uninstall the configuration profile from your phone before installing the update.
And it"s unclear what the new iPhones will ship with, so if you"re thinking of buying one, you might want to exercise caution. If the new iPhones ship with iOS 13, then you"re not going to be able to restore from an iOS 13.1 iCloud backup. You"ll need to set it up as a new device, upgrade to iOS 13.1, reset it, and restore the backup.
Also available today is a new developer beta for tvOS 13, adding a few fixes to the mix. If you"re on the public beta for either one, you should get the update later today or tomorrow.
