Apple reportedly getting ready to open new stores in Mexico and Latin America

According to a credible rumor, Apple is currently on the verge of launching a major retail push in Latin American countries, including Mexico.

The news comes from Apple Insider, whose report is quoting unnamed sources familiar with the matter. According to said report, Apple is gearing up to open a big flagship store in Mexico City, with construction being already underway.

In total there will be two new stores in Mexico City, these being only the third and fourth Apple Stores in Latin America, after the company opened two pilot locations in Brazil. But the company’s plans don’t end there.

Seemingly wanting to breathe new life into Apple’s retail strategy, the company’s SVP of Retail, Angela Ahrendts, wants to expand even further into other cities in Mexico as well as other countries like Chile and Argentina.

It’s not exactly clear when all of these locations will open up but there are indications this is a long-term strategy, so depending on your location you might still have to wait a while before getting to see one of the new stores.
