Following declining sales numbers for its tablet offerings year after year, Apple was expected to make big changes to its lineup. It started this by releasing the iPad Pro - a 12.9-inch, stylus-equipped version of its tablet - last year, followed by a 9.7-inch version this year. According to a new report, however, Apple may go a step further, with an overhaul of its entire tablet lineup in the image of the iPad Pro.
Japanese blog Macotakara reports that come next spring, Apple will simultaneously be releasing three different variants of the iPad Pro with 7.9-inch, 10.1-inch and 12.9-inch models. The smallest model will obviously feature as a new and improved iPad Mini, while the 10.1- and 12.9-inch models will likely be refreshes of the existing 9.7- and 12.9-inch models.
In terms of specs, all of the devices are expected to have improved imaging capabilities courtesy of a 12-megapixel iSight shooter with True Tone Flash and True Tone Display. The smaller model will also be upgraded with a Smart Connector and four audio speakers to bring it up to par with its larger siblings and worthy of the "Pro" moniker.
If true, these rumours will also raise questions regarding the future of Apple"s existing iPad Mini and iPad Air models and whether they will be scrapped, or refreshed alongside their "Pro" counterparts.
