Apple seeds Developer Beta 5 of iOS 10, macOS Sierra, watchOS 3, and tvOS 10

Apple today released its latest round of Developer Betas, including iOS 10, macOS 10.12 Sierra, watchOS 3, and tvOS 10 beta 5. The news comes just eight days after Developer Beta 4, which is a much quicker turnaround than Apple"s normal pace of every 14 days or so.

If you"re waiting for Public Beta 4, no worries. Last time, it only took the company one day to seed it, so start looking for it tomorrow. Of course, there are no public betas for watchOS or tvOS, only iOS and macOS.

The iOS 10 beta 5 release notes say that this build - like previous builds - will lack functionality that requires adoption from App Store apps, such as the extensions that are now available in Messages. Interestingly, it no longer states that the new facial recognition features in Photos won"t sync across devices.

Beta 5 of macOS 10.12 Sierra is build 16A286a. The release notes - like the iOS 10 notes - provide a long list of fixes and improvements, along with instructions to set up Apple"s new Auto Unlock feature. Spoiler: you need to set up two-factor authentication on your Apple account.

watchOS 3 Developer Beta 5 fixes issues with Siri and an issue that happens when using Xcode. The tvOS beta fixes an issue with Music.

Finally, as usual, there is a new Xcode 8 beta to go alongside the others. Xcode 8 includes support for Swift 3, and the new beta adds support for anything that was changed in the other builds, as well as a bunch of fixes.
