After reading rumours for the past few months about the possibility of Apple delaying the release of the iPhone 5 until later on this year, one report just threw a wrench into the mix to suggest that there will be a new iPhone next month.
For the past four years, Apple has been releasing a new version of their very popular smartphone, the iPhone, around the June or July timeframe. Early reports suggested that Apple will be putting off the iPhone 5 until September of this year.
However, a report from electricpig.co.uk picked up today tells a different tale. It appears that Apple is reaching out to British journalists, or more specifically, journalists that report on the iPhone, to fly out to San Francisco for the WWDC event, where a new iPhone hardware announcement may take place.
The iPhone 4S rumours are now born, with hopes that Apple updates their smartphone line to stay competitive. Similar to the iPhone 3GS refresh, the iPhone 4S is rumoured to have an improved camera (some say 8MP camera), the latest A5 dual-core processor and HSPA+ support.
Apple"s WWDC kicks off on June 6, where Neowin will be reporting over the four day event.
